Regulatory classification & export

The classification call, with the controlling regulation cited.

A product or transaction resolved against the controlling regulation — including export-control posture — with the citation attached. Designed to refuse below confidence rather than guess. It informs the determination; it never replaces the controlling authority or the operator's counsel.

Product → gates → cited determination (or abstain)

What the substrate determines

Before a determination is emitted, the substrate resolves the item against the controlling regulation — federal, state, and, where it applies, export-control — and attaches the citation to the call.

  • Regulatory classification with the controlling citation attached
  • Export-control posture flagged against the relevant USML / EAR categories
  • A confidence read — below threshold it abstains, it does not guess
  • Every call anchored to the audit chain, independently verifiable

The classification engine is built and tested and runs in tooling today — not yet as a live service. During a design-partner pilot the determination is hand-run; the customer-facing wire is the gated piece.

Capability Gate — explicit

Built
Confidence-gated abstain, framework-level citation, and audit-chain anchoring — built and tested in tooling.
Gated
The customer-facing wire, counsel review of the posture, and live integration with the controlling authorities' determinations.
In production today
No customer-facing service. Substrate operates locally; nothing on this page is a deployed customer-facing service.
Path to live
Counsel review and authority engagement proceed independently of this page. The substrate stands ready.

What this is not

  • GunVaultHQ does not provide legal advice as settled fact.
  • GunVaultHQ does not replace the controlling authority's determination.
  • GunVaultHQ does not replace ATF, the State Department, or the Commerce Department.
  • GunVaultHQ does not issue a license, classification ruling, or commodity jurisdiction.

Designed to support the existing federal and state firearms-compliance regime — not to replace or circumvent it.

Run a product line through it

Export classification for the channel is a moving target — firearms sit in the EAR 500-series, much else in the USML, and the line keeps getting revised. Bring one product line; during a hand-run design-partner pilot the determination comes back cited, with abstain flags, plus a re-verifiable audit record your counsel can ratify.
